// memory for the operator with ai attached

one brain. every session.

a personal memory layer for the operator with ai attached. every claude or chatgpt session starts as a stranger. brain is the database they read from.

// brain.bfurg.com/mcp · live · any device, any session
· · claude mcp client chatgpt mcp client cursor mcp client telegram chat surface slack chat surface discord chat surface one brain · every session
// the read no single tool surfaces
// the harder question moved up.

a chatgpt conversation about a macbook upgrade looked like indecision.

six youtube searches in the two weeks before it showed the call had already been made. read separately, the conversation looked like indecision. read together, they showed the call was made — the conversation was confirming it, not opening it.

ai made building cheap. when execution gets cheap, the bottleneck moves to judgment. am i building the right thing. am i thinking clearly or just thinking fast.

chatgpt remembers facts. notion holds projects. journaling apps collect entries. all of them capture what you think. none of them watch how you think over time, or notice when the shape of it shifts.

brain is built into that gap.

// the data
// four data layers. one privacy model.

capture. attention. identity. thinking.

an mcp endpoint at brain.bfurg.com/mcp. any ai session reads from it, on any device.

schema-first. not a tag-everything bucket. two-tier privacy auth so a work device never sees private rows.

the value is at the joins. the macbook read was a join between attention and capture. no single layer would have surfaced it.

// failure modes
// two failure modes worth naming.

drift looks like productivity.

nine days in: 180 thoughts captured, 11 thinking_records produced. capture is cheap. thinking is slow. the ratio is the tell. looking busy is the disguise drift wears.

over-philosophizing is the opposite failure. the capture window stays open longer than the editor. nothing closes. nothing leaves the system as a built thing.

every instrument has to be auditable on its own terms. brain included.

// the agents
// the agents close the gap.

four agents read what the operator can't see alone.

the agents read the ratio above and the joins underneath it. each one is built to catch a different way the operator's own loop fails.

one live. three scoped. the roadmap is the point.

building an instrument to see yourself is not a feature you ship. it is a practice you grow into.

three months of designing instruments around language models. five essays. one argument across them all.
